A must to remember before going to KSA

KSA short of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, an Arab Islamic country which is located in the Middle East. Most of the people either man nor woman, once they reached the land of KSA definitely they will have a bit of culture shock especially if that will be the the first time for them to travel. Like a person who have a unique personality, almost all of the countries have their own culture and beliefs that needs to be followed.

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has their own beliefs, customs, religions, practices and traditions, and every one of should respect those factors. Unlike other countries, Saudi Arabia is considered the most strict and conservative place. Thus, the foreign national should follow their rules and regulations otherwise they will be in Jail. So if you’re planning to go for a visit or for a work to Saudi Arabia you should always keep in mind the following rules.

Never ever carry or eat pork –  carrying and eating  pork is strictly prohibited in an Islamic country. It was clearly stated in their holy book or the Qu’ran that pork should not be eaten as it is harmful for a person’s body. So before leaving your country and traveling to Saudi Arabia or other part of the middle east be sure that you have enjoyed the pork already.

Alcohol – in other countries alcohol consumption is very much allowed, then not in Saudi Arabia. Any kind of beverage which has alcoholic contents is strictly prohibited in the country. Harm to the Islam religion. So if you’re a drinker then leave it and don’t bring that attitude in KSA.

Religion – in Saudi Arabia it is not allowed to practice your own religion. There is a certain place in KSA that there is a Catholic Church and you can find it in Aramco Company Dammam. But technically there should be only one religion to be practiced in KSA and this is ISLAM.

Illegal drugs – as the word stated it is “illegal”. Not only in Saudi Arabia but in every part of the world. But because KSA is a strict country if you were caught to have this type of drug surely the cost will be your life.

PDA- if you’re in a relationship or married, displaying of affection in public is certainly not allowed in this country. Don’t worry you can still do it privately J

Censored materials – avoid bringing pornographic materials, surely you will be in jailed if you will be caught.

Proper dress code – remember females you’re not in your  own country, for females in Saudi Arabia they are required to wear an ABAYA and a Hijab. It is again stated in the holy qu’ran that women should not reveal any parts of their body to avoid temptation for men.

These are just simple reminders, never forget these and your travel to Saudi Arabia will be meaningful!

Traveling and Thrifty I

The best things in life are free—well, not really because whether we like it or not, traveling requires MONEY. However, leisure does not really have to come extravagantly, especially since we can travel around the globe without breaking a piggy bank. Although society dictates that we need this and that when traveling, the primary factor you need to consider when traveling is knowing the huge difference between needs and wants.

travel_tips-300x189Various Internet sites give viewers crazy tips about travel essentials, but in reality, most of what they post on the Internet are just a form of advertisement, so before you get hooked by fancy tags and colourful passport books, ask yourself if you really need these items, or if you are just going to throw away your money. Also, one thing that can aid you in traveling conveniently and making the most of your trip is packing light. A heavy luggage is a burden when traveling and believe it or not, half of what you pack, you don’t really need.

The Peak of Spending

Traveling during peak seasons will assure you that regular prices will skyrocket. To avoid this, traveling off peak is your best option. Also, there are deals on varying Internet sites that will help you avail discounts, especially for accommodation. However, be very careful with the sites you pick as some may promise more than what they can deliver.

Extravagantly Popular

Cities definitely have their own specialties and delicacies. However, some popular restaurants may offer these dishes at a very high price. Picnics and pica-picas will surely help you save more and it will promote family bonding.

Fares take a huge portion of your budget and if you really want to make the most out of your traveling experience, walking will not only let you save but it will also let you savour the country you are exploring. Furthermore, it will give you the chance to experience the culture more and to meet locals.

No to Expensive Souvenirs

When traveling, you’re not really there to shop till you drop unless you are a millionaire or you’re traveling to shop for business purposes. There are department stores where you can buy items at a relatively cheaper price. Usually, souvenir shops sell items at very expensive prices since they think that travellers are worth a million bucks.

Tip Me Minimal

Giving tips is an effort to make workers feel that they are appreciated, but if you’re really trying to cut down your expenses, avoid giving out too much tip. It’s the thought that counts anyway.

Art and Zero Fees

In the early days, museums may be the most boring place you can ever be. However, with the latest technological spin-offs, museums have now evolved to become not only places for education, but for entertainment as well. When you are in a particular country, visiting a museum would not only be a great way for you to know more about the country you have visited, but there are also exhibitions you can definitely enjoy. The best thing about museums is that most of them do not require an entrance fee.

Road Trip Fun: Foods To Take on The Road

Planning  a roda trip can be extremely exhausting. You will have to plan which route to take, what things to bring and of course, you must carry out some maintenance procedures on your chosen vehicle. One of the most common problem of road trip travelers are the foods that they should bring. Since not all routes will have a diner or any establishment along the way, food is one big priority. This is why I have enumerated some of the best road trip snacks that you can prepare for your trip.

* Nuts. This is a healthy alternative for your usual salty chips. In the event that you will be craving for something salty, skip the chips and grab a bag of nuts instead. You can opt to bring different types of nuts. Walnuts, pistachios, almonds, walnuts and the likes. You name it, you can bring it! You can also opt to bring edible seeds such as sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds. These snacks will provide you with the right combination of healthy fats and proteins. This treat will surely make you feel full without increasing your sodium levels. If you are craving for something crunchy, then you can opt for pop corn or a rice cake.

* Healthy Beverages. Most of the time, people will tend to bring lots of soda with them for a long drive. Although this may sound extremely delicious, this is really not highly recommended. After all, you would not want to get sick along the way, right? Drinking sodas can actually spike your blood sugar levels. If you want something that will quench your thirst while you are on the road, then it is recommended that you bring along some fruit drinks, sports drink as well as water with you. Place this in a cooler so it won’t get warm.

* Energy bars. If you will be travelling with the kids, leave the candy bars behind and bring the energy bars with you. With a granola bar, you can easily get the fiber and protein intake that your body needs without the excessive sugar levels.

* Chopped and packed veggies. If you want something to munch on, then it is best that you opt for pre-washed and pre-packed vegetables. Road trip friendly vegetables may include cherry tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, celery sticks as well as snap peas. To make this snack a lot more flavorful, opt for a tasty dip such as peanut butter or hummus.

* Cheese and crackers. Cheese and crackers is one snack combination that will never go wrong. This will keep your hunger intact for a very long time. You can prepare some cheese slices and put it on a chiller. Also, you can try and buy this snack in a convenience store along the way. If you wish to make some alterations on this usual cheese and crackers combo, you can replace cheese with peanut butter spread.

* Yogurt. Yogurt is a perfect snack for both adults and children. It is best that you opt for one that is packed in a travel friendly tube. If you wish to have  tastier travel snack, you can add some berries and granola on it. This will surely be  a great dessert while you are on the road.

Fishing Escapade ( I wish!) at Pantabangan

Don’t Jump! 😀

Days like this, I always wear flats :p Anyway, no one will see how chubby my legs are. I’m wearing my grandma’s Maxi Dress

What the heck am I thinking here? haha (drama mode)

I am in love with blue skies ❤

Let’s Sail Away – Come with me! 😀

We rented a van which costs 1200 pesos (back and forth – including gasoline fees). We stayed for about 30 minutes in this lake which comprises the dam site at Pantabangan. I also notice that water continuously flows in the road side. They say, it’s like a spring. You will notice motorists will stop by to wash their tricycles.

I want to go back again, and this time, will bring some food and fishing equipments and probably will go back during afternoon or during early morning. I almost got blinded by the sun light! It was 3:00 pm when we got there. Anyway, we just visited this place because of our friend, August. He died in a motorcycle accident.
